Candice Adams, Clerk of the 18th Judicial Circuit
Candice Adams is the Clerk of the 18th Judicial Circuit Court for DuPage County. The Circuit Clerk is a constitutional officer elected by DuPage County voters every four years under Illinois law. The duties of the office are set by state statute, the Illinois Supreme Court, the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, and the local rules of the Chief Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit. The Clerk attends every court session, keeps and preserves the court records, holds the court seal, and supports the public through counter and online services.
The Clerk's main page lays out the office's identity and services. The Circuit Clerk's overview page describes the office as a constitutional one and lists the records duties.

The page says the Clerk records every trial-court case in DuPage and that the office accepts more than 150,000 filings each year across traffic, misdemeanor, felony, domestic relations, law, chancery, and juvenile categories.
Records Duties of the DuPage County Circuit Clerk
The Clerk's records duties cover the full life of a DuPage court file. The office accepts a new case, assigns the case number, holds the original filings, posts the docket, processes orders signed by the judge, mails notices, takes payments, and certifies copies on request. The Clerk's office also keeps the court seal, which is required on certified copies and on documents that move from DuPage Circuit Court to another court.
The Court Records page explains how the file is made available to the public. The Clerk's court records page says all DuPage records are open during business hours unless they are impounded or sealed by statute or court order.

Public computerized terminals at the Clerk's office let visitors search records the online portal does not show. The terminals are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Online Services from the DuPage Circuit Clerk
The Circuit Clerk's website bundles every public-facing tool the office runs. Civil E-Filing and Criminal E-Filing go through I2File. The Order Copies tool also routes through I2File. Pay Online and Case Lookup, Text and Email Court Date Reminders, Protection Orders, Attorney Access, Passports, Court Date Availability, Court Forms, and Wedding Registration all sit on the same homepage.
- Public Information Application - Pay traffic tickets, view case status, look up next court date, read docket entries, register an email for traffic updates, and change a case address.
- eAccess restricted system - Free deeper search for attorneys, police agencies, and approved self-represented litigants.
- I2File order copies - Pay for certified or plain copies and have them delivered electronically or by mail.
- Court date reminders - Sign up by text or email for upcoming court dates.
- Court forms - State-approved forms for civil, family, criminal, traffic, and probate filings.

| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Civil filing fees | Per current Circuit Clerk schedule |
| Criminal and traffic fees | Per Illinois Supreme Court schedule |
| Certified copy of a court order | Published on the Clerk's order-copy workflow |
| Court transcript | Court Reporters office, fee posted on official transcript request form |
Note: The Circuit Clerk's office runs an annual Amnesty Week in early September that waives qualifying Harris & Harris collection fees when the underlying balance is paid in full at 505 N. County Farm Road.
The Amnesty Week page spells out which collection cases qualify and what dates the office accepts the waiver.

Amnesty Week is a once-a-year shot at clearing old collection fees for DuPage cases that qualify under the published terms.
How to Request a Certified Copy
People who need a certified copy of a DuPage Circuit Court order, judgment, or filing have three options. The fastest is the I2File order-copy workflow linked from the Clerk's homepage. The second is to mail a written request with the case number, the requester's contact details, and a check for the published fee. The third is a counter visit at 505 N. County Farm Road.
- Find the case number through the Public Information Application or the public terminals at the courthouse.
- Pick the order or filing that needs certification.
- Open I2File and start an order-copy request, then upload identifying details and pay the fee.
- For mail requests, write the case number on a sheet with the requester's name, address, phone, and email, and mail it with the fee to the Circuit Clerk.
- For walk-ins, bring photo ID and arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on a weekday.
Attorneys can download free copies of signed orders for active cases within seven days of the file date through eAccess. After seven days, attorneys use the standard fee schedule.
