DuPage County Sheriff's Jail Roster
The DuPage County Sheriff, James Mendrick, runs the official inmate roster for the county jail at 501 N. County Farm Road. The Sheriff's homepage points to a JailTracker page hosted on the public-safety-cloud system. The roster is the only first-party public list of DuPage inmates. Mugshots, full booking sheets, and incident reports go through the Records Division, not the public roster.
The roster URL is the same one the Sheriff publishes from the Corrections Bureau menu. The public can open the JailTracker roster at omsweb.public-safety-cloud.com and search by name. The system requires a modern browser because it runs as a Blazor web application. If the page does not load, refresh the browser or try a different device before assuming the search is unavailable.
Jail Roster Search Fields
The JailTracker roster app exposes a small set of search controls. Users can look up an inmate by name, and the system supports the partial-name and last-name search patterns common to most county roster tools.
| Field or Control | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Yes for name search | Partial spelling supported on most rosters. |
| First Name | Text | No | Helps narrow by very common last names. |
| Search button | Submit | Yes | Returns matching inmates from the live custody list. |
| Roster filters | App controls | No | Available filters and result columns are rendered by the live JailTracker app. |
Note: The JailTracker roster reflects current custody, not historic arrests; an inmate who has been released will not appear in the live roster.
How to Use the DuPage County Jail Roster
The roster is built for a quick name search rather than a deep records query. The list below walks through the most common search path.
- Open the Sheriff's official homepage and click Inmate Search in the Corrections Bureau menu.
- Wait for the JailTracker app to finish loading; a slow first load is normal.
- Enter the inmate's last name in the search field.
- Use the first name to narrow common last names if the result list is too long.
- Open the inmate detail to see booking number, charges, court dates, and bond.
- If the roster will not show a known inmate, call the jail at the Sheriff's main number for verification.
- For previously held inmates, see the released inmates page rather than the live roster.
Sample DuPage Inmate Profile Fields
Most public jail rosters in Illinois show the same set of fields. The DuPage roster is built on the JailTracker platform and follows the standard layout. Sealed or restricted fields can be hidden from the public view.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name and Alias | Full legal name plus any known aliases. |
| Booking Number | Number assigned at booking, used to track the stay. |
| Booking Date | Date and time the inmate was booked into the jail. |
| Charges | Charges at booking; not the same as final court charges. |
| Bond | Amount set or no-bond designation under Illinois pretrial rules. |
| Housing | General assignment data; pod or cell may be redacted. |
| Arresting Agency | Sheriff or municipal agency that made the arrest. |
| Court Date | Next scheduled appearance in the underlying case. |
| Release Status | In custody, released on bond, transferred, or pretrial release. |
DuPage County Correctional Facility
The DuPage County Correctional Facility is on the County Farm Road campus, next door to the courthouse and the Sheriff's office. The facility is the main county jail and serves as the holding facility for pretrial detainees, sentenced county inmates, and people held under periodic imprisonment. The Sheriff's site bundles correctional-facility information with the inmate search, visitation, mail, and bond pages.

Mail, Letters, and Money
The Sheriff publishes a dedicated mail and letters page with the rules for sending paper mail to a DuPage inmate. Letters must follow specific addressing rules, content rules, and contraband rules. Mail that does not meet the rules is returned. The site is the official source.
Read the rules at the Sheriff's mail and letters page before sending anything to the jail.

Money for commissary, phone, and other inmate accounts goes through the Sheriff's posted vendor; the Sheriff's site lists the current methods and limits.
State Prison Custody vs. DuPage Jail
The DuPage roster is only current county custody. People sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections are not on the county roster. IDOC runs its own offender search at the state level. Use the IDOC search for any state-sentenced inmate, parolees, and many recent releases from state prison.
The state's official search is the place to start. Open the IDOC individual in custody search to query state prison custody.

Federal custody runs through the Bureau of Prisons rather than the state or the county. See the released inmates page for state and federal release-search routes.
Registered Sex Offender Search
The Illinois State Police maintains the public sex offender registry, and the DuPage Sheriff links to it from the Corrections Bureau menu. The Sheriff's registered sex offenders resource page points users to the state registry and to local information for community awareness.

The state registry is the authoritative source for compliance and address data. Verify any third-party result against the official ISP search before relying on it.
What Happens at Booking
Booking into the DuPage County Correctional Facility starts with intake by deputies. The process collects identifying information, photographs, fingerprints, and a health screening. Property is logged and stored. The Sheriff assigns a housing classification based on charges, behavior, and medical needs. Most newly booked DuPage inmates appear in the public roster within a few hours of intake.
People with medical, mental health, or substance use needs are routed to the jail's healthcare and recovery programs. The Sheriff's site lists Mental Health Reentry, Medicated Assisted Recovery, the Recovery Program, and JUST of DuPage programs that touch booking and reentry. Families that need to confirm a booking can use the public roster, call the jail, or wait for the Circuit Clerk docket entry to post for a first court appearance.
Note: A booking entry does not equal a conviction; it is the jail's record that a person is in custody on a charge or a warrant.
Corrections Programs and Reentry Inside the DuPage Jail
The Sheriff partners with J.U.S.T. of DuPage, the Mental Health Reentry program, the Medicated Assisted Recovery Program, the Recovery Program, and Veterans Mental Health Information to support people in custody. The Sheriff also operates a Sheriff's Work Alternative Program, known as S.W.A.P., as a sentence alternative, plus Periodic Imprisonment for qualifying sentences. PREA, the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, governs the facility's safety obligations and reporting paths for inmates and staff.
Family members who want to support a person in custody can use the visitation page, the mail page, or the approved money-deposit vendor. People with court dates should confirm the next appearance through the Circuit Clerk's DuPage court dockets page before relying on a roster line that may be a few hours behind.
Posting Bond and Surrendering
Posting bond at the DuPage jail follows a process the Sheriff publishes on the Posting Bond or Surrendering page. Under the Pretrial Fairness Act, most release decisions in Illinois now turn on a judicial hearing rather than a simple cash deposit. People with active warrants may need to wait for a release hearing rather than walk out on a posted bond.
Visit the official posting bond page before driving to the jail. Confirm hours, accepted payment methods, and any ID requirements. Most surrender visits start at the jail intake area on County Farm Road, and most bonds are processed on a 24-hour schedule subject to courthouse hours.
